What size collar is needed for a shitsu?
Most shitsus need a 10-14" collar, but you'll need to measure to make sure. All of our collars are custom made to the size you enter for your dog during check out (with a few inches of adjustment) this is and especially helpful feature for small dogs- for whom a collar adjusted to it's smallest diameter can be bulky and uncomfortable. (please let us know if you are buying for a puppy and we will allow room for growth if requested)

Flat-Snap Fabric Collars for Shitsus
Most shitsu owners prefer a flat buckle-type collar. A side release buckle ensures that the collar is easy to put on a wiggling pet and it's quick to get off in an emergency situation. Our fabric collars are made from 100% reinforced cotton and our preppy collars are made from grosgrain or novelty overlay on webbing.
Martingale Collars
Some shitsus figure out that if they pull backwards out of a collar when attached to a leash that the collar will slip over their head and off- leaving them loose without a collar or identification tags. For these dogs we recommend our small martingale collars- available in the same patterns described above.
By the way, the correct spelling of shitsu is Shih Tzu. Browse through picturees of the many wonderful (already housebroken) dogs avaliable currently through Shih Tzu rescue.
