Dog leashes are one of those items every dog owner must have! Even if your dog behaves well off leash, a visit to the veterinarian, a walk in a park, or a trip into a busy neighborhood all require that your dog be secured on a leash for their own safety and the safety (and often just peace of mind) of those nearby who might not be comfortable with dogs.
Unlike dog collars, dog leashes are all about YOUR comfort. Your dog will never really come in direct contact with it's leash, but it's an important tool to contain and communicate with your dog. You should select a leash based on how it's designed to fit and feel in the hand, how it functions, and how the leash looks. Most leashes are standard but some leashes have special hand grips or soft leather grip. Leashes can be purchased as short as 12" (called traffic leads) or in more standard 4, 5, and 6 foot leash lengths.
All leashes come with a standard snaphook. Leashes are sometimes avaliable with spring snaps or carabiners.
